This is Dorothy - Dot to all who know her, and that's pretty much everyone. She writes a weekly gardening column for the Polder Herald and is particularly passionate about flannel flowers and composting, both all too often overlook in her view, in favour of the more showy crowd pleasers.
Dot stands approximately 40cm high (16 inches) and sits atop a wonderful vintage metal funnel. She is made entirely from needle felted wool with hand painted glass eyes and a clay nose.
She's very sweet and looks as though she'd love a cuddle but unless you want her to look like your favourite old sweater, it's best to resist the urge to pat her too often.
My felted sculptures are hand made in my studio in Perth Australia from 100% Australia wool needle felted to create their shape. Each one is absolutely unique and comes with a wonderful little story to help you get to know them better.
