Ernest has had a pen pal since third grade, a friend for many years though they have little in common. Still, they write faithfully each month filling each other in on the comings and goings of their lives. Ernest credits his beautiful penmanship (a skill few can claim these days) to these letters - real letters written the old fashioned way with a fountain pen and a piece of paper.
Ernest stands approximately 40cm high (16 inches) and sits atop a wonderful vintage metal funnel. He is made entirely from needle felted wool with hand painted glass eyes and a clay nose.
He's very sweet and looks as though he'd love a cuddle but unless you want him to look like your favourite old sweater, it's best to resist the urge to pat him too often.
My felted sculptures are hand made in my studio in Perth Australia from 100% Australia wool needle felted to create their shape. Each one is absolutely unique and comes with a wonderful little story to help you get to know them better.
